Little Cakes

Any kid would remember their mom’s kitchen smelling sweet and yummy. I grew up with that. My mom has this superwoman baking skills and me and my siblings were always in the kitchen ready to lick off the remaining icing on the whisks. Now that we’re grown up, most of my siblings didn’t get my mom’s superpowers. Yes, we cook & bake but we don’t really bake the sweet stuff.

Fortunately, my brother married a woman who loves to bake. And she’s currently starting a business called Little Cakes. Such an adorable name! And I am now currently helping her out with her branding one step at a time. It is still in the planning stage so we’re taking it one step at a time. For a start I designed the logo. The keywords that I got from her were: fun, adorable, yummy and luscious.

I wanted to play around with the “fun & adorable” part since it just fits with the brand name. The top 2 of my sketches:

Improved the second one. And this is what I came up with. The final logo. It was approved on the spot

And here’s Little Cakes on some sugar cookies.

We’re still currently working on the packaging. More to come soon!

and there’s my betta fish, i call him HE-MAN hahaha! i need to work on his home a bit.
i just got him 2 days ago, thats why he’s still in a big bottle. but he likes it though.

It took me only an hour to finish this random doodle last night on a legal sized bondpaper. I really didn’t know what I was going for. All I thought was I just had to keep myself busy on this paper. So this came out. I printed the word “Doodle” on a bondpaper and just started filling up those spaces. Easy, huh? But it made my fingers ache when I was done. It was worth it though. Im a satisfied doodler.

Enhanced it on PS. I’m not sure if I like it.

So I changed it to this. And I wasn’t sure either. So whatever! *pffft!

Kevs. I can’t make up my mind. Which one do you like? Or don’t like? )

Space & Ice Cream

These two will take part in an exhibit for the opening of The University of the Visayas – New School. The newest design school in the metro. They offer Visual Media Design, Digital Illustration, Photography, etc.. Check out their Facebook Page for more. I was also invited to mentor in this school, hopefully i still have enough time to squeeze it in my schedule. I am super excited!

Here are the doodles that came to life from my sleepless nights. The techniques are rather different, I know. But hey, I’m flexible like that!

Its just too obvious that I am such a space/alien nut. My husband from another universe will definitely be Sheldon Cooper. HAHA!

Much thanks to Chad for getting me out of my too busy schedule and kinda forced me back into doing what I love the most. Thanks dude!

Just another day playing around.. and made a flower pattern Here’s the original illustration. So girly, yeah?

And here’s that illustration converted into a pattern. Imagine if I can print it on a cloth? I made this for my Mum and Big Sister who loves summer dresses. I only wish there’s a good printer here in Cebu. Please hit me up with an email if anyone knows of a good printer, who also prints on cloth. I would love to give this to them as gifts…Let me know what you think.
