funny, i told my former teacher, now colleague how i never have the patience to do this kind of work. i was watching him doing the same thing over lunch yesterday. even back in college when we were all required to do this, i always end up mumbling over how far i am from finishing the drawing. haha! it is a beautiful art, i just dont have the patience to do it

Cameras + Books + Toys

if there’s one thing you should know about our family, its that we collect tons of books! and we haven’t even read all of them. serious. when me and the husband go book shopping and then realize that we’ve overdone it, we always have the excuse of “we’ll have time to read this when we retire. when we get old.” good excuse for anyone who loves books and so fast forward to today, books are scattered all around the house. some in the bedroom, some in the other room, some on the overflowing little shelf by the table. plus the kiddo is also collecting tons of books. uh oh!

and as for myself alone, i’ve been collecting vintage cameras for some time now. the collecting started when my father brought me to junkshops that sell vintage cameras. i promised myself not to buy another one since its piling up. HAH! goodluck to me! and so we finally bought a big shelf. the small-medium ones are not doing any good for us anymore. im so thrilled that we bought this shelf for i can finally FINALLY take my camera collection out from their storage (which are camera bags actually) and put it on display. my father told me they shouldn’t be kept in the bag, they should be out and feeding on light to avoid fungus building up inside… anyway, here they are. books and cameras… and toys! wohooo! finally they are out! BUT some are still left on storage. another shelf perhaps? teehee!

on top are some of the cameras, husband didn’t let me put it all since these beauties are heavy as a brick! hehe
on shelf: Argus C3, Pentax K1000, Nikon FM10, Ricoh 300, Yashica FX3, Lomo Fisheye, Holga 120 CFN
and also these tiny beauties: Minox 35GT and the Rollei 35 and oh, that’s Witol Bee right there. she was the husband’s tiny companion when he went to Hong Kong for work for 3 months

Who doesn’t love Feist?! I so love her. And I am very excited that she has a new album called Metal. The above video is from that album. I love anything black and white so its easy for me to fall inlove with this. And I love the bobbing head boys haha!

My daughter loves her too! We especially like this one with Elmo (he’s our favorite too)

If she’s ever coming to the Philippines, I will panic and buy tickets to see her. Seriously.

Online Shop

It was a few months back that I discovered Society6 just by browsing and browsing over websites from random designers. Its a website that helps artists around the world sell their artworks online — without giving up control of the artist’s rights, of course. And I joined their community a few months back but I just started uploading some stuff yesterday. And as i did my daily email checkup routine, i got this…

Really?! AWESOME! Never expected it after just two uploads! ) But then this got me pumped up! Wooot! Now I will do some more and more for sure. I have a loooot of sketches and doodles waiting to be finished. Can’t wait to get started again! here’s my artwork on a laptop..

So take a tour around my little shop. Maybe buy one perhaps? All artworks are produced on Laptop/iPhone/iPod Skins, Shirts, Hoodies and other fine products. Check it out!

styled a logo for an interior designer and a friend of mine. this was very challenging because the client was waaaay too feminine, and of course as a designer, you really have to put in the client’s personality to her own logo. its not called “brand” or “identity” for nothing. well anyway, as challenging as it was, i had to get out of my comfort zone and yes, i satisfied her with the final output.
a different variation..
here are some of the designs that didn’t make it. i especially like the last one, but client says its too “masculine” and square-ish for her. and it looks like a chinese character, put beside her name and its already way over chinese! haha. she also emphasized that she needs some swirls and twists and curls :p

and a little peek of one of the bachelor’s pad she styled i really love this project! it has taught me a lot and it made me progress more as a designer. also, this client has become one of my favorites. itching to post more. soon soon!

that’s it. i really have to post more work, but life gets in the way. if you know what i mean.
